Running Shoe Fiasco!

So I have been desperately needing a new pair of running shoes. I came to Boston for a conference, but I also wanted to see some of the sights. The shoes I brought were wholly inadequate. I was in severe pain after doing the freedom trail and walking all over the Italian district in them. Killer :P So the next day my friend Jill and I hit the streets again. By the time we got to Feneuil Hall to check out the Market places some more, my feet were dying. I had called my landlady and asked her if I could pay my rent a little late (I'm hoping to have a nice tax refund come my way) and use my rent money for some shopping while I was in Boston and she said that was fine. So I decided I was going to use some money to buy a GOOD pair of shoes. So I did! I found a running store and got a beautiful pair of heavenly running shoes that I could walk miles in. Oh they are wonderful and I dropped a good chunk of change for them, but they are totally worth it because I will use them well for the next 6 months or so. After a bit more sight-seeing, Jill and I took off to see some more of the conference. I got out of a long meeting with a message on my phone. One of the girls that I met at a dinner of all the associates with our university had called me saying that we had mixed up our credit cards at dinner. We had both bought the same meal and had the exact same credit/debit card. Sure enough, I pulled out my card and it did not have my name on it! Worst off, I had charged my super cool shoes on her card! Luckily she is a paid intern and has a lot more money in her bank account than I do and she took the charges off my card that she had made. When I talked to her later, she said it was cool if I wanted to just wanted to pay her back the next time she was down on campus, which won't be for a month or so. Sweet :D We switched our cards back and all is good, but man it was freaky to know that I was so oblivious that I didn't have my own card :P Pictures of Boston to come soon!

Baby Hannah

So another reason I went home last weekend was to see my sister's new baby Hannah. She was a sweet little baby. She loves to look at people and see what she can. She seems to get upset if she was enjoying your face and you move her so she can't see you. I got her to smile a few times and she was cute. Nathan really loves his little sister. He likes to kiss her and cuddle her, but I bet he can't wait until she's old enough to play with. I'm sure Michelle's house will be full of high pitched giggling.

My Valentines Day

So right after my roommate got married, I took off to go home for the weekend. I was looking for warmer temperatures and sun! Well, I got one day off that. Valentines Day was a cool sunny day. My mom had got my nephew's Nathan and Eric the night before and had them have a sleepover with grandma, so I spent Valentines with two cute boys! When you are single and have no romantice prospects for Valentines Day, or any other day for that matter, Valentines can be an annoying holiday that you just want to forget. Well, I was having so much fun on Saturday, I forgot it was Valentines day and when I remembered, it didn't matter much because I was so happy to be home and with family. Here are some pictures of me and the boys having fun at the park.

Mary got Married!

So on a cold, but sunny day, my roommate got married! Even though I had only known her for a semester, she asked me to be a bridesmaid :D That was sweet of her. So here is some nice pictures from the day. And hey! I caught the bouquet, so maybe there might be some romance in store for my near future!
